Hershey's Chicago > PRESS RELEASES Sweet Rewards For Hershey’s ChicagoFeb 24, 2006 - JGA, recently named a Top Ten Retail Design Firm by Interior Design magazine, was recognized with an International Store Design Award from The Institute of Store Planners (ISP) and VM+SD Magazine. JGA won first place in the Specialty Food Shop category for their design of Hershey’s Chicago. According to chairman, Ken Nisch, “Hershey returns to ‘Sweet Home Chicago’ where company founder Milton Hershey discovered the European chocolate-making equipment in 1893 that would revolutionize his company for centuries to come.” This interactive retail experience combines the elements of the Times Square and Chocolate World locations, but with a number of unique elements that embrace Chicago with a special Hershey’s touch. Essential to the experience is the 20-foot-tall Hershey’s Magnificent Chocolate works machine that creates and dispenses a personalized mix of Hershey’s products and a cafe with “fresh-baked” Cookies and Cocoa-To-Go where “Hersheyizers” entertain visitors as they custom decorate a selection of baked goods. ISP/VM+SD celebrated the 35th Annual International Store Design Awards at the Grand Ballroom of the Puck Building in New York on January 16, 2006. Following the awards dinner Hershey’s Chicago, along with the other winners of the International Store Design Awards, were presented at a conference session of the annual National Retail Federation Convention.
