CASE STUDY: Fantasy World

Objective

To create a retail experience that streamlines and emboldens the brand through updated organization, graphics, finishes, fixturing and visual presentation.

Result

A leading Kuwaiti wholesale toy and retail company, Fantasy World lives by its motto: “Kids deserve the best!” This prototype maintains the right blend of whimsy utilizing holographic materials, playful graphics and stylized iconic elements inspired by things celestial and imaginative. The store’s strong lease line appeal is generated through a series of backlit panels, whose integrated optic elements provide an ever-changing array of colors and visual effects.

Design Elements

  • The bold and vibrant color palette, along with a brilliant array of internally illuminated fabric-stretched discs creates a playful constellation of color, shape and elevation visible from the store’s main entry that reinforces the “out of this world” theme.
  • Reenergizing the brand with a new prototype and in-store graphics platform, merchandise departments were reorganized under Boys, Girls, Early Years, Outdoor/Sports and Amazing Minds categories.
  • The store features fun, multi-colored round ceiling elements that match the distinctive department colors, making it easier and more exciting for guests to navigate their way through the experience.
  • The brilliant high gloss white fixturing contrasts the use of the colorful zoned departments, while positioning the toys and its packaging as the hero, bold graphic striping of feature walls are accented by graphically rich floor materials, appearing simply delightful and high tech.
  • The holographic perimeter focal element provides a perspective of continuity from the exterior color morphing to the inside of the store.
